FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. The course starts from the absolute basics, including installing Power BI Desktop and understanding what it does, then builds up to advanced DAX and dashboard design. Basic comfort with Excel is helpful but not required.

No. DAX is taught from first principles in Module 4, including the shift from Excel-style formulas to filter-context-aware measures. No SQL knowledge is required anywhere in the course.

Power BI Desktop is free and works on Windows. You'll need a Windows machine or a virtual machine or Boot Camp on Mac, since Desktop has no native macOS version. No paid license is required for anything covered in this course.

The course includes six full, end-to-end portfolio projects covering sales, retail, marketing, finance, general analytics, and an enterprise capstone. Each includes a business problem, data model, DAX measures, and dashboard build.
